Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do I need to remove all of my clothing for a massage?
Massage is a very personal
service and most massage therapists are highly trained in proper draping methods, so that only the parts of the body being massaged are revealed. It is much easier for the therapist to perform
body work when articles of clothing are not in the way. However each individual has their own personal level of comfort and you should always be able to relax to receive the full benefit
of the massage. Please feel free to discuss any of your concerns with your therapist.
-
Should I tell my massage therapist about an injury? Alert your therapist about any muscular or skeletal pain or injury. HealthQuest massage
therapists are highly trained in musculoskeletal injuries and often times massage can really help the healing process. Massage therapists, however are not physicians. If you have been
seeing a physician concerning an injury, make sure that you have a release form from your physician to receive massage. HealthQuest will send a physician's release form for your at your
request. You rill need to contract one our our Fitness Directors to complete the form and your massage will have to be postponed until the form is returned by your physician.
-
Is massage good for me when I have been sick? You may not receive a massage at HealthQuest if you have any of the following symptoms: 1) any type
of skin irritation (rashes, abrasions, sores or open wounds); 2) cold or flu symptoms; and 3) any infectious illness or disease. Please avoid scheduling an appointment if you are suffering
from any of the above until all symptoms have ceased. We apologize for the inconvenience, but appointments cancelled for illness are subject to the 24-hour cancellation policy.
-
I like to get a massage right after my workout. Do I need to shower first? We know that the best time to get a massage is after your
workout. We ask that you would be courteous to your massage therapist by showering off prior to your appointment.

Is tipping a standard for massage therapists? Our therapists are allowed to accept gratuities and they are very much
appreciated. Tips can be left in the small dish in the room or in an envelope at the Front Desk.
