Soma breath is similar to rebirthing or holotropic breathwork yet it balances out oxygen saturation by using a traditional hatha pranayama technique called Kumbhaka, which is breath retention.  This breath retention combined with energy locks, bandha’s, balances the body with Carbon Dioxide.   Which has even more health benefits. There are 2 types of breath retentions used. Antara – holding breath at the end of the inhale. And Bahya, breath retention at the end of exhale. 

In addition, another ancient yoga technique call Nisshesha rechaka is used. This is holding your breath out beyond the comfort zone.  This lack of oxygen state, called intermittent hypoxia is a known therapeutic techniques used in clinics, due to the health benefits

We will utilize numerous ancient yogic pranayama techniques as well as energizing Kundalini Yoga technology.

In closing the practice, you will find yourself in a deep meditative state as we integrate with restorative yoga and stillness in Savasana. 

Wear comfortable warm yoga style clothing, loose at belly and chest. Avoid perfume, strong scents. All breathwork techniques should be done on an empty stomach, 1-2 hours after meal. Bring water & personal eye bag if you prefer.  Not recommended if pregnant or heart conditions.
